Make Lemonade

Greetings Bookologists,

Just a quick update today to thank you for your patience. We have had some techy type issues yet again (very frustrating) causing delay to our emagazine. We are working very hard to have it to you by the 9th, and I assure you this suspense building will not lead you down a dark alley of disappointment; a dark alley of fear and horror maybe but not disappointment.

So as I collect the lemons life has given me this past week and head off to make a big batch of lemonade I ask you, what do you do with your lemons? Do you bottle your woes to re-use in your writing or art creations? Surely it is a waste to just tip them down the disposal. Does your lemon tree grow loud and proud in your front garden as fodder for your thoughts and creative endeavours?

Life is filled with complicated emotions as a writer (or artist) isn’t it great to at least know that when life gets complicated that you can later pick the right lemons to squeeze out the juice onto the pages of your story. Sure, getting lemon juice in your eye can hurt but if it makes you cry it may just make the readers cry too and that is a recipe for good writing.

On that note, happy gardening.

Who can resist free children’s books?

The wonderful website, Wildlife Fun 4 Kids, is currently hosting an interview with me, children’s author Julie Murphy. It includes a fab book giveaway.

Take a look – it won’t last long!
